El Retorno de Lilith

El Retorno de Lilith opened its doors in the summer of 2017 in Lagunillas, Málaga’s emerging natural soho. We are an art school, an art therapy centre and an art gallery.

It is run by Silvia Virginia Muñoz, self-taught from a very early age. Experimenting with every discipline that came her way, painting little by little took the lead. She studied at the San Telmo School of Art in Málaga. She has taken part in numerous exhibitions and, since 2008, has combined her artistic career with teaching and now with the gallery. Trained in Gestalt art therapy, she brings that philosophy into both her professional and her personal life.

We were born with a commitment to spreading art in the widest sense.

Our courses include year-long creative drawing and painting courses, single-subject art workshops, illustration courses, bilingual creative painting classes (Spanish–English) for children, and preparation for the entrance exams to the schools of art.

Our workshops are not confined to the classroom: we regularly visit the museums and art centres of our city and round them off with creating work outdoors.

Through the year we offer a residential retreat deep in nature, focused on self-knowledge, bringing together art, art therapy, yoga and vegan food.

Creative experiences are another strand of our work. Our more international visitors get to know Málaga first-hand through art, making their own “Picasso” and taking it home, or painting their own watercolours at different points in the old town.

Through the year we invite local and international artists to show in our space, both long-established names and promising young ones. One of our main aims is to make art more visible and to encourage the public to enjoy and collect it.

A Gestalt view of art means that the courses, the experiences and the exhibitions are all aimed at increasing creativity, awareness and freedom of expression, and at a more holistic view of life.
